There is a lot of optimism around for Mick McCarthy's first full season in charge at Ipswich.
How refreshing to see a starting line up with no loan signings in it, when was the last time that happened?
Big Mick's only spent £20,000 on transfer fees (Jack Doherty from Waterford) assembling his new squad. Ex loan players Daryl Murphy, David McGoldrick and Jay Tabb have now signed on a permanent basis, along with new additions Christophe Berra, Frédéric Vaseli, Paul Anderson, Cole Skuse and Dean Gerken. The only loanee in the squad is Ryan Tunncliffe from Man Utd.
